7/21/2010 Suzy
shifted gears and played 3 solo shows in
Berkeley, Petaluma, and Sacramento
California this past week. She timed
the shows so she could also attend a
performance by her opera singing niece, Rebecca Davis, as part the San Francisco Opera's Merola program. There were many new fans and old friends in attendance at Suzy's gigs. Everyone seemed to have a great time as she sang and "chatted" with the audience between songs. And each night after performing, she visited with all the folks that stayed to say "Hi" and get autographs. In Sacramento at Harlow's a local newspaper article brought out quite a few folks that had not heard Suzy before. We were delighted at the comments we heard from a number of these folks that were new to Suzy and her music. We're pretty sure she picked up quite a few new fans and said she's looking forward to having opportunities to come back to the area with her trio or band as well.
7/04/2010 We
see that at the Old Threshers Reunion show
in Denton, NC Suzy's Trio became a quartet
with the return of Will Barrow to the stage
with Suzy, Charlie, and Pat.
We gotta believe this was a super show. There are a couple photos off of the "SB FB (wiki)" button above.

Just returned from a quick 3 days / 3 shows trip to PA, MD, and VA to
see Suzy's Trio. We heard Suzy, Pat Bergeson, and Charlie Chadwick
play the latest three of 17 Shows in 23 Days and boy was it worth it. We
heard the "Wear the Fox Hat" line below and were treated to an
extraordinary mix of music and talent. We hope to have photos and a
review or two up later this week.
We also have in hand the 10 Track Wildwood Flower CD that Suzy has
been selling at shows of late. This is being described as a preview of the
expected 17 Track project that is slated to be released with a song book.
The full project release is anticipated for spring of next year Suzy
appears quite excited about this project and hopes it will help expose
some of this American heritage music to the next generation that will shape our musical history. Wildwood Flower is a wonderful oportunity to preview Suzy's latest musical passion. The Wildwood
Flower "preview CD" will only be available at Suzy's shows while supplies last.. An added note: Suzy
mentioned that the full project may not be called Wildwood Flower.

Suzy has been on the Road in the UK the last 11+ days.. All reports have been singing the praises for
Suzy's shows and the talents of stage mates, Pat Bergeson and Charlie Chadwick. Even Suzy's
husband / song smith Doug Crider was coaxed onstage for harmony vocals occasionally.
We've heard a number of comments in blogs and reviews regarding the CD Suzy has been selling at
shows in the UK. Suzy has referred to the CD as including americana folk songs and songs from her 5th
grade songbook. We;ve heard the CD is entitled
Wildwood Flower, A Collection Of American Folk
Songs. Suzy has been performaing Red River Valley and some of the other cuts she had been
considering at her live shows for a number of months.
Brian Clough of The American Connection played Red River Valley on this week's webcast.
Brian is expected to play THREE more cuts from the CD next week as it was featured as Album
of the week!!. Tune in live or the show is archived at the link below so you will be able to preview the
songs at your leisure. This weeks show is "A Taste of Country"
The show featuring Wildwood Flower as Album of the Week is titled "Tasting the country life." During the show, Brian
mentions that he will likely play the rest of the tracks on upcoming show so tune in often.

We've heard that the CD release is tenatively schedule for September. But we've also seen the following
information reguarding the project: "Bogguss is teaming up with Cracker Barrel to offer an American
Folk Songbook. The collection will be released next year and will include a CD with classics such as Shenandoah and The Banks of the Ohio, as well as a hard cover companion book that includes the
history of the songs and complete sheet music."
We're looking forward listening to this new Suzy CD when it becomes available here in the states and
are just a bit envious of those lucky folks in the UK that alreay have Wildwood Flower in hand.
Suzy has mention that schools have moved away from teaching many of the "heritage" songs that were
once taught as part of grade school music programs which have also often fallen prey to program cuts
over time. We've heard a number of the songs performed at Suzy's shows and are hoping this will be a
big success for Suzy. We also hope it will inspire a renewal of interest in this wonderful music penned in
a simpler time but no less relavent today.
